Do you lack confidence in taking out a small motorboat by yourself? This is the course for you.
This course provides a simple one day introduction to boating techniques; launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer to everyday boat handling and the provision and use of safety equipment. The minimum age is 8 years and the course carries certification, however candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an ëendorsedí certificate.

This is The National Powerboat Certificate, the driving license of the powerboating world, and our most popular course. This exciting course provides you with the skills and background knowledge needed to become a competent powerboat driver.† The busy working harbours of Falmouth and surrounding waters of the carick Road give you opportunity to navigate around them make this a thoroughly demanding and enjoyable course.† If you can spare the time this is a ëmust doí.† This is also the ëgatewayí for all the varied disciplines in the Watersports industry including Canoe/Kayak umpire, Ski Boat Driver, Life Savers and Dive boat drivers, or just to be able to take the family out for a safe day out on the water. this is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

It takes one small phone call or email for you to start booking this brilliant course ñ It will be one giant leap in your boating skills and knowledge of navigation.† 2 days of planning and adventure.† The outstanding natural beauty of the Fal estuary and all its creeks are your playground and the †course covers both the theory and practice of pilotage and passage planning during the day on these beautiful coastal waters, using both traditional and electronic navigation techniques.

Minimum age 16 candidates must be up to standard of Powerboat Level 2 Coastal.

This course is for leisure and professional boaters wanting to undertake more adventurous trips in small powerboats. Following the same format as the intermediate course but with the addition of night passage.† A chance to really see what it all looks like lit up, or not, as the case may be!†† If you have the requisite skills listed below then you can go straight to this level.

Pre course ability
Minimum age 17. Candidates should be competent to NPC level 2 (coastal) with a knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of Day Skipper Shorebased Certificate.

Designed for those who use powerboats to provide support and safety cover for watersports such as sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Ideal for Sailing Club or Yacht Clubs volunteers and anybody wishing to improve their driving skills, It includes search and rescue techniques, different methods of recovery and towing of a variety of craft and of course, most importantly, the safe recovery of people. †Elements of race management and mark laying are included.

Pre course ability
Has completed the Powerboat Level 2, is over 16, has at lest a sessions experience and a basic knowledge of sailing boats.

You already have powerboat experience as an RYA dinghy Instructor or through years of recreational sport. Now is the time, for you to pass you knowledge of powerboating on to others powerboat as a sports has grown a hug enormously over the last few years, and the demand for Watersports centre and sailing clubs to provide this training is long overdue.

As always we intend to provide a training course that conforms to all RYA standards, but also adds an extra dimension. A wide range of craft will be at your disposal to learn the necessary skills to teach others. Coded ribs, Displacement craft with inboard diesel engines and small but fast tiller-steered support craft will all be available.

You must be at least 16 years old and have a minimum of 5 years or 2 full seasons powerboat experience, preferably in both planing and displacement craft. Please ring the school for more details.

If you have just bought a boat and would like one of our experienced instructor to come out with you for a half day tuition session or until as you feeling happy and safe with your boat All courses can be taken in your own boat and on a one to one basis.
